Megaman (or Rockman in japan) is my favorite games, though usually it only has linear gameplay, that is to defeat 8 bosses, and then go to confront the final boss. But as he defeats the bosses, he got ability to use the bosses's ability for himself. It feels fun to get new boss's weapon that we have defeated to help us defeat another boss.

In its development, megaman has many different story's series/version. But there are 2 biggest version of megaman, they are Megaman series and Megaman X series. Other than that, there are some other version like Megaman Zero.

* Megaman series

is the version that starts on Nintendo (NES). In this version, megaman is a robot created by Dr.Light to stop the evil Dr.Willy. What is special to this version of megaman is that all story tells about how megaman tried to stop Dr.Willy from executing his evil plans. In his journey, sometimes he gets help from the mysterious Protoman (his robotic brother),

his trusted robot dog (Rush), and find Bass (enemies who later cooperate with megaman to defeat Dr.Willy though still dont want to be friends).

This series/version going from megaman,megaman II, megaman III, and so on until megaman VIII, and Megaman & Bass.

         

* Megaman X Series

This series has cooler megaman pictures and stories that starts in Super Nintendo (SNES) and continue on to Playstation (PSX). Different from megaman series, Megaman X's eternal enemy is no more Dr.Willy but Sigma (a powerful evil robot that used to be a hunter too). The stories revolve around Megaman X as a hunter (robots that works to maintain peace between humans and robots) that hunts and kills mavericks (robots that gone mads and revolt to kill humans and destroy the world). Megaman X has a cool partner, Zero. And in later series, there is a young energetic hunter robot named Axl joined the team.
